2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
(1) Draw the attention of government on conservation of the old trees From data searching or visiting of the old trees, we found that people are only aware of the “age” of the old trees, and hardly care about them. We hope that the government can spend more budgets on promoting old tree culture in homeland education and environmental education, and draw more people’s attention on the old trees. (2) Through our webpage, more people will care about the old trees in their surrounding, and they will know how to protect them.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
(1) Thanks to Mr. Chang who has been the school volunteer for 15 years. After the interview, we learned more about old Red Fruit Fig-tree at the gate of school. (2) Thanks to teachers of natural science in school for providing information related to the old trees near school. (3) Thanks to the boss of restaurant under Hsiang-jui old tree. She is the parent of a student in our school, and after her introduction, we learned the toughness of the old trees. (4) Thanks to Mr. Chi, the guard of Taipei Municipal University of Education, owner of bookstore and boss of laundry who receive our interview. (5) Thanks to the abbot and worshipper of the temples who receiver our interview.
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
1. Discoveries (1) According to interview with the residents and others, we realized that the old trees near the temples are particularly reliable to the followers. However, since people worship the old trees, they restrict the growing space. Some old trees are not under proper management. These are the problems of conservation of the old trees which should be recognized and valued by the government and the public. (2) After listening to tree doctors’ speeches, we have primary understanding of their jobs and realize the importance of tree doctors. 2. Lessons (1) The bodhi Tree in Taipei Municipal University of Education, across-street of The Affiliated Experimental Elementary School, should be hacked due to brown root disease. Teachers and students in Taipei Municipal University of Education, and the students in The Affiliated Experimental Elementary School had all celebrated the anniversaries of the bodhi tree in the past. Members of “Little Tree” had sung birthday songs for this old tree with the choir. Thus, we were sad about the death of the old tree. We thus treated “the old trees” as the subject and in memory of the old bodhi tree, thus further paid attention to the surrounding old trees. In the lanes we pass every day, there can be the old trees we never care about. On the streets in Taipei City, have we stopped and recognized the green? By Cyberfair project, upon the old trees in school, we study those in Chungcheng District and intend to make more people to cherish the old trees in Taipei. (2) In this Cyberfair project, at the beginning, we were unfamiliar with data reorganization. However, with the teachers’ instruction, we gradually constructed the research framework and reorganized the information. 3.Surprises “Are there old trees in Taipei City? Not many?” When studying the old trees, we realized that there are many old trees in Chungcheng District. They can be in the lanes nearby and people might not observe them even pass by them every day. Through data collection and on-site visit of the old trees in Chungcheng District, we recognized the importance of these trees which are the “live historic interests”. The moving stories between “the old trees and me” are around us!
