International Education Week (IEW)

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries. In support of IEW, Global SchoolNet, the US Department of Education and other FTE partner organizations participated in a panel discussions in Washington, DC, focusing on the role of technology in international education. Introduced by the Office of Educational Technology for the US Department of Education, these panels discussed how technology-based collaborative projects can enhance both learning and the development of global awareness in American young people. Students and teachers from Lebanon, California, New Zealand and Ghana were brought in via video-conferencing and other connective technologies.
