1. Description of Our Community
Taiwan, an island nation once named Formosa, which means 'beautiful island', is filled with beauty of both nature and humans. In the quiet community of Zhong-zheng, Taipei City, people are living happily, not because they're rich, but rather because they are lucky. In the community, a plan which benefits the people who can't afford food had started. The plan is to recycle food that is edible from markets that do not sell well and make them into delicious meals. The plan also included a food bank.
2. Summary of Our Project
Our project is to head into the community of Zhong-Zheng and learn how the market and restaurants work together to help elders and children who are in need. We want to understand more about sharing foods between the elders and how the community center help kids in their education and many other aspects. We will gather our information and organize them into a website to show our ideas and understand of the topic.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Before we start the topic “Eternal Food, Coffee for Love”, we had been doing lots of research and discussion. However, the discussion did not went well because our club(class) time was separated, so the whole team can’t discuss together and reach a consensus. We are also not able to make our thoughts in sync. In order to resolve this problem, every students in the team had make themselves available in the first week of winter vacation, so we can all work together and developing some chemistry.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Participation in International Schools CyberFair make us as a more active citizen. We had learned about a various groups of people who need the help from society and different groups of people who are putting effort on helping the society. From this learning, we want to promote these groups of people and association’s caring to the world and make people feel the temperature of this society.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
Through this interview, we realized that teamwork is the most important part of this special study. It contains three different elements. First, trust is one of the elements. Team members must trust each other in the group and believe that the other party can complete their own tasks. In the team, there must be one or more clear goals, so that everyone can move toward the goal, and each person must play a role, clearly know their tasks, and indeed to implement, otherwise our time will only be wasted. In the process of discussion, it is inevitable that the members of the group will have different opinions and ideas, and they may not be able to identify with others. Therefore, they should communicate and coordinate in a constructive and respectful manner, and accept opinions that are different from their own in order to bring the best way to reconcile your team. We truly learn the word “teamwork” as we to do it. The internet is a much big learning area for all students. We can find most of our answer on the internet as we face the problem. Traditionally, people use books for their learning. When they have any questions on the book, they could often only ask the teacher for help. As learning on the internet, we can search the answer by ourselves, this make us as a more independent thinker. Independent thinker is important, it makes our future better because we deal things by ourselves not rely on others. Furthermore, from the internet, we can see various kinds of answers from the world, this make out thinking more international as learning on the book, can’t learn all these traits.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?
The list of our tools and technologies of helping us complete our CyberFair project are some software such as, Youtube, Google Chrome and Safari, Google Docs, Google Form, Google Drive, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Muse, iMovie and PowerDirector. Some physical facilities such as, laptop, printer, phone, digital camera, monocular camera. And some other tools such as, Optical fibre network, Wi-Fi and place for field interview. We think Wi-Fi and out laptop is the most valuable tools because we use them most often to complete our project. We have been using our laptop to finish most our researches and our organize of data. We also use our laptop to make our website. The corporate of our laptop with the Wi-Fi make our project gone more smoothly.
2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
In Taiwan, there are many places that lives enormous elders or people who are low-income. Also, it is very often to see some people are collecting trash and some elders sit beside the sidewalk waiting for people to buy chewing gum or lotto. These people reminds us to think deeper and evoke the curiosity to learn more about how to help these people and organizations that are doing the job to help them. As a result, we learn about BookHouse 60 and other facilities that are set by Mr. Feng on the internet, and eventually become the topic for our cyberfair. During the production of this project, it requires the interview with the actual person to talk about his experience and learn about how it is operate by visiting. Firstly, we clarify the business hours, so we can visit it at the right time. Next, we use emails and phone call to contact with the local volunteering organization to schedule the time of visit, then contact with Mr, Feng. After the schedule is settle down, we started to draft our question for interview. Lastly, we went to visit BookHouse 60 for recording and gather informations. This visiting bring us a lot of impression and inspiration. Through these process, we learned that to act as a “ambassadors” is arduous. We need to make sure that the communication between Bookhouse 60 and us is clear, so the project can finish successfully.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
The connection between our school and the community towards out project is that our project make more people know that there are various kinds of charity associations in the community. People can know more about the food sharing plan, and the dilemma of the disadvantaged families. There are more people started to know more about the Carrefour food sharing plan and Book House 60 and noticing the difficulties of those vulnerable families through our study. From our daily conversation with friends and families, we often mentioned the project we are doing. Because of the first heard of these plans and the project, causing their curiosity to learn more about the plans and the project. Therefore, we had a small step on spreading the informations to people who don’t know the project yet. By making the website publicly online, all people everywhere can know this project. They started to notice that in their community, there is a group of people who needs help at the moment. We make the citizens learn more about the community they are living in, make the people in the community have a better understanding of each other and a better understanding of their community. Some teachers and parents and their friends and family have a view on our project, one of them said that we had a great heart of making the project, so more people would learn about the project.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
There are lots of people to thanks in this project. First, we thanks Mr. Feng and his son willing to accept our visit and interview. They let us see a different Taipei in a different viewing angle. They broaden our knowledge and let us learn what we can't learn in textbooks and classrooms, this is the warmth of caring. Teachers who had been guiding us are also the one we give the big thanks. The teachers had always been accompany us to guide us, and give us the best advice when we are in trouble. We also need to thanks our parents by supporting us joining the club and do the project. Lastly we thanks all who had been involved in the project, they make our project gone more smoothly.
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
The positive and decent contribution of Hesheng Fang has deeply touched our team. We watched the lonely old people in the community having enough food and clothing, and have a venue to gather together to communicate, which can reveal the smile from the wrinkles on their face. Such a scene may never be seen again, but it is because of this research that we can grasp the visits outside the school and finally promote these services so that everyone knows that this group of people in Taipei is working hard for their own communities.
