Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

The students worked collaboratively using Google drive and document to edit their peers work and also to plan the website.

They used HTML and CSS using an editor (sublime text) this allowed them to create the website that is both browser and mobile responsive.

The students also edited the photograph using GIMP. This allowed them to make changes to the website and influence the overall appearance of the website.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

The interviews and the pre-interview phrase allowed the students to let the interviewee understand why they are doing the project and also allow them to be the spokesperson for CyberFair project.

They personally went to the different Hawker centers to talk to these hawkers and often they have to use Mandarin or other dialects as these hawkers are not English educated.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The project help the students and the community to realise the importance these hawkers play in the Singaporean culture. This project also allowed us to archive their stories and allow the other students to learn about the issues faced through theses interviews.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The students asked their parents and the different teachers such as the history and social studies teachers about the timeline about hawker food in Singapore.

They also have the help of the school IT staffs who supported with the software and allow the computers to be functioning properly.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The students learned that many of the hawkers were delighted to share their experiences. They appreciated the learning done through the interviews and how they are an important part of Singapore culture.
