1. Description of Our Community
The Hawker Center is an important and integrated part of the Singaporean culture.
However the Hawker Center is declining and we hope that we can help to preserve and archive this important aspect of the Singaporean life. Most Singaporean grow up eating Hawker food and they supply the nourishment of all Singaporeans
2. Summary of Our Project
PRESERVE the old hawkers, and the passion of the young hawkers in creating authentic hawker cuisines representing Singapore.
UNITE the young and old hawkers - coming together to work towards a common goal: PRESERVE the heritage of hawker centres in Singapore.
The site will include pictures and life story of the various Hawkers who agreed for us to capture this unique Singaporean culture.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
The students have to seek permission from these Hawkers who are generally reserve and camera shy. Some do not speak English and the interview had to be done in Mandarin or in dialect. This had to be transcripted and summarise for the website
5. Our Project Sound Bite
This website allow the students to see this hawker centers as a key element of Singapore and help us to promote this dying trade in Singapore
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
The students learned to work collaboratively and to use their skills such as interviewing the participants. The students also collate their data and edit them collaboratively by using Google drive and Google documents.
They learned about the problems faced by the Hawkers in Singapore and the long hours these Hawkers have to work to provide nourishment for Singapore.
