Finally, we presented all of our data with statistics.

We are students at Jui-Fang Industrial High School in New Taipei City and come from far away places to study in Ruifang. We tried to take this opportunity to learn more about the local culture and are pleased to introduce our local community attractions, Houtong Coalmine Ecological Park. The impact of our community: In terms of the survey result, we approve the overall planning of Houtong Coal-Mine Ecological Park and also hope through this chance to do the great promotion and introduction to Houtong. At the same time, the park can develop the diverse cultural and creative products and mining experience tour to deepen the tourists’ impression on Houtong Coal-Mine Park. The impact on us: 1. Deeply understanding of Houtong history. 2.We observed changes in our perceptions as well as growth in our attitudes towards work. We learned how to cooperate with each other to resolve issues quickly and effectively, and also gained a lot of valuable experience throughout our investigation.

The volunteers serving at the park explained the general situation of the park and specifically pointed out the historical relics at each exhibition hall so that we gained the messages we needed in a more systematic way. 2. The security guard of the park is the son of a miner, knowing a lot about coal mine and enthusiastically explaining the formation of coal and the process and sorting of coal mining. 3. Mr. Wang Yeh-sheng They are our English teachers at school and helped us polish the content
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
Through the on-site interview and experience, we have more concrete knowledge on the history and culture of the coal mining in Houtong. Coal is the gift to the Houtong area granted by God. After coal mining stopped, the population moved out and Houtong has been gradually forgotten by people. Here we’d like to express our gratitude to New Taipei City Government for establishing Houtong Coal-Mine Park, which has preserved the valuable historical relics. In our months of collaboration, we put in lots of hours learning many things we did not know before, including web design, survey design, and interviewing techniques. Our efforts showed us that we still have a lot to learn. However, through long hours of teamwork, we developed strong connections with each other as we faced challenges together
