Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The Haishiwan township of Honggu district is on northwestern outskirts of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. The location of Haishiwan is the homeland of Mamenchisaurus, one of the most famous sauropods in Asia.

2. Summary of Our Project

By participating school club activities, to cultivate students' innovative spirit, enrich students' daily life activities, help students develop in several field, and acquire the experience of success.

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

School has a network room with 100M optical fiber access, all offices and classrooms have been connected to the network, but computers in only one classroom can access internet, besides the computer is backward in our school with bad allocation, the speed is slow. Because of 'insufficient' broadband speeds, we were online at two-weekend in school. Teacher instructed us to make webpage on information technique lesson.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Webpage-making competition had a huge demand for writing, but the mid-term exam is coming, the learning task is very nervous, it is usually difficult to squeeze time to write, so we had to write in the weekend time, sometimes carry out activities in the class time. Through our hard work and cooperation, the study topic “School club” was decided.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Students participate in the activities of their choice. They are highly interested, motivated and earnestly. Thus, students will want to learn, know how to learn and rewarded from learning. In these activities, not only can students' social activities level be improved but also their abilities of organization.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

By students taking part in school club activities, help students to learn self-education, self-management and self-originating, to build up a campus culture to benefit students' psychological health. Influencing the moral sentiment and artistic taste, improving scientific accomplishment, exercising strong physique, it can promote the overall development of the students. The successful web site we made could hardly do without many people’s help. School leader, teachers and classmates gave us supports, some student’s parents involved in our activity and offered us help.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

By our introduction and promotion, let more people understand our school cub, and let this organization play a bigger role. Through our practical actions and reasonable suggestions and practice, making school club get long-term and standard development, so it more effectively contributes to the development of the local campus culture construction. Everyone should play as a 'propagandist', to make better publicity for the school club.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

By our study, we got know about the existing problems of school club, students’ interests and hobbies, so as to form the objective of self-advancement, and help to achieve the goals, to achieve cognitive consistency, experience, perception and internalization. It cultivates students' ability of self-management and leadership

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

School provides a varied program of cultural and social events according to students’ interests and hobbies, which can integrate school-based courses and comprehensive practice and activity curriculum, so as to realize a win-win.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

1, By cultivating students’ ability of self-learning and practices, making students able to adapt a study method suitable to themselves, create habits to do plan and review. 2, Arousing curiosity and stimulating thirst for knowledge, be good at discovering problem from everyday life. 3,By cultivating the ability of learning about cooperate with others, to create a unified spirit.
