Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Song Shan High School of Commerce and Home Economics, located in Taipei, Taiwan, is a commercial vocational high school. The departments of the school include International Trade, Accounting, Applied English, the Business Management, Advertising Design, Data Processing and the Interior Design Section. Because it is located in the metropolitan area, the school has majority of female students who often have contact with many popular, novel, creative products and have also interests in them. The school has frequent international exchange activities, so the students are concerned about culture of other countries or the development of world trend. Surrounded by Sishou Hills, it is also related to ecological aspects of natural issues.

2. Summary of Our Project

Paper is a very important tool for the progress of human civilization, but in the process we also consumes a lot of resources. Seed paper a concept that amazed us. This project begins with collecting relevant information, getting to know this product, visiting relevant studio, interviewing the founder in Taiwan, visiting retailer, and making on our own. We plant our seed paper and expect it to return to this piece of land.

In the process of making the project, we rethink the relationship between humans and nature, the regeneration and utilization of resources, and the way human beings can feed back to nature. Although it is only a small product, with the founder’s dream, the idea can be seen by many people because of insistence. By making this website, we hope the ideas can be seen. Spread the seeds of environment and hope, root them, and sprout all over the earth.

The use of the school network, home network, mobile Internet, and we mainly do the topic at the school computer classrooms. Outside the school, we make good use of online Google Drive and Google+ to transfer files and links. This way help us do not waste our valuable time one minute.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

I think the biggest problem in the group is lack of time. In the school can only use a short lunch break time, and some of the number is often unable to come because many people in this group have other positions are also lunch time meeting. So we use winter vacation more leisure time, and went to the school together to do the site, will be additional at home production. Members of this group are business management department. In the computer program is not often contact, so do not familiar with using it. Thanks teachers carefully taught almost zero from the beginning. If there are small places unknown we will support each other, or Find answers from the web yourself.

Every week we will have a meeting for making and discussing website, and draw up a goal, everyone assign different jobs, some teammate may not hand out on time because of the personal reasons, caused our inconvenience, Otherwise we will review our job assign, readjust, and let the finished teammates help those who were unfinished, helping each other, and play our team force.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We through lots of interviews and practice s to finish our Topic, and by the process we promoted a lot of concept of seed paper. Even grant questionnaires (over 150 papers), also let more people to understanding seed paper. Many people do not know this, even surprise their exist. Also think about the significances of them---How to regeneration environmental resources ! Blessing may become environmental protection. Make the seed of gratitude germinate again. After watching out Topic, we believe that more and more people willing to think more. We also make an effort for environmental protection of the world.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We discussed during our lunch break, using websites making skill in computer class, analysis skill in business class, and language logic in English class. In addition to teachers help, we also visited businessmen, made some investigations ,found some books and looked for studios to learn how to make paper ,and we gained a lot.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We use 25 computers,telephones,TV and radio stations,video and digital still cameras, digitizers and scanners to record our works. We go to libraries and read many books, to find the news of seed paper.At last, we made an oral interviews to meet the founder in Taiwan.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Seed paper is a daily product. People have used paper for a long time, but they have also consumed a lot of resource from the earth. Seed paper maybe a start to give people a chance to think how to cherish resource by researching it. People should start to think how to treat resource in the world and think of a way to reuse the resource and return it to our earth. We hope our website can help everyone know Seed Paper.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Woopapers was founded in 2012, they devote themselves to handmade seed paper products design development and customization service. They position themselves in a lively brand, hoping to transmit love and temperature through the hand feel with handmade paper’s products.

Pinkoi Handmade Paper is located on the second floor of the Taipei new horizon Taipei New Horizon Shopping Complex in the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park.As soon as we enter the store, we smelled the fragrance of wood.

This store appeals to produce in Lanyan Plain. It mainly sells aromatic pommelo flowers and some pammelo-relatied products. By this chance, it promotes great products made in Ilan. She also sells seed paper.

Those store help us know and make the seed paper.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

From the progress of discovering Seed Paper, we not only learned a lot of new knowledge, but also experienced the handbook paper personally. I buried my seed paper into soil, watered and took care of it, expecting it could grow up one day, and sprout new buds. People who tried hard to popularize the seed paper hope that seed paper can be seen by more people.
