It unites our people and local.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We encourage our students to do most of the research by themselves, share and gather their ideas together. They want to learn more about their hometown. With this project, we connect the new generation with the elderly. Both of them benefit from each other by sharing and also learning.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Local people helped a lot for arranging the interview for this project. The artist who we invited does less and less public events because of the age. But he was very nice to share all his life with our team. Also, with the new tech, we used smartphones, tablets, and surely cameras to record our interviews and photos.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

I'm actually new in this school and of course this project. But I'm impressed by the influence of it. I can sense the eager of our team members, how they want the world and our own people see these artworks and stories. We visited the artist couple times. He couldn't really speak clearly at this age, but he's been really nice to us, sharing thoughts and food, too. This project means a lot to all of us.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Not just share with our own students. We'd like to share our research to schools around. The stories may go on from one person to another. Also, this project brings new hope to this old town. People only know this was a mining town decades ago and transformed a hot spot for tourists. But under these shining distractions, it has more to be discovered. By doing this project, I think the stories go further.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

This is a great opportunity for local people to know that there's still young generations care about this land. And THAT made them want to share more with us. With the power and knowledge from them, we got more info and truth about lives of the past.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

My grandparents used to live in this town, and I visited them a lot when I was little. But they moved to the city and never really went back. This place becomes a land of dreams to me. However, I came here by chance and decided stay here forever, giving and sharing all I have for this land. Luckily, I have this lovely jobs at our school. Life's a mystery, one never knows that I'll come back here again.
