This book recorded every detail that Hsin – Yi’s mother took care of Hsin – Yi who has serious heart disease during twenty-one years. We felt very emotional after we read this difficult but full of love’s story. We want to interview with Hsin – Yi’s mother, and know more about this touched life story.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We wanted to go to Ms. Chang Ying – Chuan’s house to admire the paintings which were drawn by her and her daughter, Hsin – Yi. However, Ms. Chang’s house is located at the mountain in Xizhi District, the path is very far, and we were afraid to disturb Ms. Chang, so we gave up the meeting plan with her. In the coming future, we hope that our school can consult with Ms. Chang directly, ask her to handle an art exhibition in Wuxing Elementary School, and introduce the life story of her and her daughter. Before that, we are glad to invite Ms. Chang to Wuxing Elementary School to accept our interview.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The Inspirational Story Of Mather and her daughter.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The problem of long – term care. Being hospitalized was normal to Hsin – Yi. She also knew many good doctors who are caring and competent. Although Hsin – Yi had subsidy from health insurance for visiting a doctor and being hospitalized after 1995, the expense and the mental consumption of long – term care were still astonishing. Mrs. Chang Ying – Chuan took care of her daughter, Hsin – Yi almost twenty – four hours a day. Fortunately, Hsin – Yi’s father worked seriously and earned much money to support the huge medical expenses and living expenses. Thinking about it, among the near- poor households families, if there are patients who have serious illness, get serious hurt from accident, or their grandparents who are too old to walk, then who is able to take care of them? If it need one of the family member to quit the job to take care of the patient, then how can the family have enough money for living? If they need to hire a caregiver to take care of the patient, then how can they afford this tens of thousands dollars’ expense? Therefore, the issue of long – term care needs to be studied and solved by relative governmental departments.
