Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The Kluang District is a district in Johor, Malaysia. Kluang district is one of two landlocked districts in Johor, the other being Segamat. Kluang was founded in 1915 as the administrative capital of Johor by the British. It is located in the centre of the state and is within 90 minutes of all major urban areas of Johor. Kluang, combined with Batu Pahat, encompasses central Johor with a market catchment of over 700,000. Over the 20th century, Kluang's economy transitioned from rubber to palm oil

2. Summary of Our Project

This project is describing about Mount Lambak.The project focusing on creating awarness and bring lost of charm of Gunung Lambak among the community. We believe by creating website, than promote the variety and uniqueness of local attraction at Mount Lambak Recretional Forest.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Difficult time : Our grou members face difficult in finishing the roject. It is because we got to know about the project very late. So, we had to arrange our procedures reasonable to complete the project before the due date. Besides school programme in class teaching, teacher Hemanathan Harikrishnan also spent time to guide us to complete the project.

Technical difficulties : It is the first exerrience for us to create a website. Before this, we only got exosed to create blogs and facebook. Its such a new exeperience for us technical wise to create website. In addition, limited numbers of computers at school also delayed our project. We have to thank our teacher, Mr Hemanathan Harikrishnan who had often borrowed his laptop to complete our project.

Language : Information that we had collected regarding our project was in Tamil language. We had to translate Tamil language to English with the guidance of our English teachers without changing the actual meaning.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Cyber fair organisations give such a wonderful opportunity to students & the school to collaborate with an International School based on project wise. The project also improved students research based skills, with the team participating at the global level.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Certain subjects in our school curriculum are related to nature. The topics give emphasize on the need to preserve the uniqueness of the nature. Gunung lambak is preserve forest by Malaysian government. The main purpose of the research to promote Gunung Lambak.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Laptops. We used to surf information regarding lambak mountain, edit photos and videos and also creating the web page by fee web creator tools. Adobe Photoshop used to edit the pictures which was taken during visiting lambak mountain celebration. Cyberlink Power Diretor is a flexible video editing sofware solution.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Team members of the project played a few roles to represent our local communities and the ambassadors to introduce the audience to the world about the gunung lambak. Team members acted as spokespersons for our project online by creating our website and the project related pass on social networking site. Team members act as ambassadors and spoke persons in persons by presenting our project through several presentations and survey within different age groups.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

he project has already started to give impact on regenerating the lost charm of Gunung Lambak which had proved to be a successful one. Our project also gives big impact in to promoting Gunung lambak by performing workshops at school level.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Local members like parents, NGO, school ex-students club, and school parents teacher association contributed ideas and volunteers to review our project. They also give some opinion to improve the project qualities.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The interesting discoveries we had learn from this project is the finding of data.The data is very useful for our school organisation to organised different activities during celebrate earth day celebration at school level. Involvement of community give project team members learn lot regarding perverseness of nature.
