Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Citra Kasih High School is a private school bulit by Citra Berkat Fondation. Citra Berkat Fondation supervise some schools. Schools bulit by Citra Berkat Fondation have a entrepreneurship education and also using a national curriculum. Citra Kasih School have some branch, that have the same curriculum and standard.

2. Summary of Our Project

Tomini Bay is famous for under water habitat and undefined creatures. There is several number of unsettled small islands. Tomini Bay is a heaven for divers, because the geographic position of Tomini Bay itself, which is crossed by the equator line, has naturally presented various kinds of sea creature inside.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The time that given to us was too short. And sometimes teachers didn’t want to cooperate when we want took their lessons. We had many ideas, so many ideas that sometimes we can't decide which one is the best because everyone has their own perspective. To overcome these all, we had worked hard every time we did this project. We voted for the best ideas when our ideas collided so everyone would feel fair.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This cyberfair program help us to learn new skills such as using adobe photoshop. This program also help students to understand more because they don't just a passive listener but they are an active researcher that make them more understand the topic and this way of method is the target of Indonesia new curriculum that student must be an active researcher not only listen from their teachers.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We use 13 PCs and Laptop for this cyberfair program. The types of computer we used are Viewsonic VPC 100, HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14, Asus X550ZE, HP Pavilion 11x360, and some custom PCs. For the design we used Adobe Photoshop and Wix.

Some of the tools are school's property and all the Laptops are student's, and the technologies that help us in this program are the PCs and Laptops that we use.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

When we started to choose tomini bay as our topic, a lot of people in our community doesn't know about this place even it is located in Indonesia. This fascinating place have a limited source so we also try to approach people that know the place to ask the information.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

It will make us more creative, innovative and productive. While making this project, we learnt how to teamwork well and how to communicate with other members of the team. Our website help them because our web site is giving information about Tomini Bay. People who don’t anything know about this place will start to know what Tomini Bay is. By creating this website, we can show the beautiful places of our country to foreigners or even for Indonesian people.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

While doing this website, we often ask the other members what should we add next or what should we do so that our website can become eye catching. Some of the members give advice and opinion and some of them say it is already good.
