Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

It is located in Eight Treasures Plain which is the hinder land of Lanzhou metallurgy valley. There are three towns of Liancheng, Heqiao Town in Yongdeng County and Yaojie Town in Honggu District. Datong River flows across these three towns. It is a treasured place with beautiful mountains, fertile soil and rich mineral resources. Due to its special geographic location, Yaojie Town has a favorable natural environment. It is political under the authority of Yuegu District.

2. Summary of Our Project

There is a computer without linked with internet at home for a student. The configuration of our school’s computers is good and they are linked with the internet. Almost works of webpage making have been done in school’s e-lesson preparation room. In middle of October, we chose a theme and participating students and applied. At the meanwhile, we prepared materials and began to make. We finished all works in early November.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

At the beginning, we are unfamiliar with the interfaces of webpage making. But with the efforts of engineers, our teachers and our efforts, we get familiar with them day after day. Along with the process of research and making, we have gotten more and more picture information. In order to realize the final effects, we have to choose some from these.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In this Webpage production process, each member of our group showed a very strong team cooperation spirit, because it is the second time to make webpage for Liu Zhipeng, throughout the process, he is in a dominant position, Wang Zhenrui was actively involved in the creation, they had a clear division of labor carefully. With the guidance of the teacher Zhang, we finished the expected goal successfully. This Webpage production had a great help to us, let us realize the influence that water pollution brought to our life deeply , and thus more firm our mission to Protect environment, protect our hometown's sense. I hope that through our efforts, in the form of Webpage contest, to help us understand the meaning to protect water resources and environment, strengthen our protection consciousness. 6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

It introduces information processing and expression in our textbook of Information Technology Infrastructure. Our study is a good practical lesson of textbook knowledge. Under new curriculum reformation, call for good investigative studies and social practices. It is a good opportunity for us to practice and use of our knowledge in DigiChina study activities. We think that we can take exercise of our social skills and improve our qualities through this activity.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In the process of collecting information, we visited relevant personnel, residents in the surrounding community and the respondents gave us the greatest help and support. At the same time, through interviews, more people feel the seriousness of the mother river pollution, everyone should do our best to protect the environment of our mother river.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We had gotten a lot of help in the process, including school teacher's support, the attention of students, especially symplectic master Xin, the doctor Xue from Yaojie inferior coal thermal power total hospital and community manager had provided many suggestions for us.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We deeply appreciate that the home environment needs us to care attentively, but the current situation is painful for us, the economic downturn, the deterioration of the environment, resulting in water pollution. This requires relevant departments and each of us to create a comfortable environment. We were relatively unfamiliar with Webpage at beginning, but with the help of engineers and teachers, we became familiar with it. With the research and production schedule, we want to present more content for you, make you aware the importance of the water source protection. But we don’t know how to show our expression, how to choose our collection of material. In the teacher and the surrounding classmates' help, we gradually had a clear idea.
