4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We encountered lots of problems in the process of research, and each of obstacles is challenging. In the process of competition, we found our shortcomings and we also accumulated rich experience. When interviewing the principal of Kodo Senior Citizen Welfare Institute, we found that the camera was not charged. We incautiously deleted the voice recording of ageless drivers which has been edited painstakingly. When recording program, we did not find that they do not have the green screen until we reached the school, which made the sectional drawing of special effect not complete. There are some one can not finish the task on time in every time, which delayed our plan. The budget issues also confused us, because the school did not provide us with traffic allowance, which made us not snacks.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

the most important thing is teamwork. This webpage coagulated our endeavor. In the process of interview, we contacted with many the aged, and we also listened the stories they shared, which let us benefit a lot. The spirit of each ageless riders is remembered in our mind. We live up to people’s expectation, and we think that each member of us is amazing.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We had proficiency in Dreamweaver and Photoshop, in our generation today, we prefer the Internet for teaching and learning rather than the traditional method, because it contains a lot of information from different sources, and it's easy way to find imfromation as well.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

(1)Computers and laptops: Searching and organizing information, producing the website(2)Adobe Dreamweaver: Making website pages(3)FileZilla: Uploading website onto the net(4)Photoshop:making picture for project(5)Digital recording pens and cameras: Recording information during interviews and working journals.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In order to understand ageless drivers deeply, we need to appreciate the documentary of Ageless Drivers firstly, and when we have the preliminary cognition of ageless drivers, we contact with the organizer of Ageless Drivers---Kodo Senior Citizen Welfare Institute. We exchange our thought with them, and they are pleased to coordinate us to finish the interview after knowing about our target to develop and expand the spirit of ageless drivers. Through five months’ interview and production, the webpage has been completed after numerous modification and discussion. We really hope that people all over the world can understand their warm-blooded heart, and break stereotyped image of senior citizens to let more people have a better understanding of senior citizens and let the aged feel more confident.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The senior citizens will feel more and more unconfident when they get older and older, which will pose a restriction for their capability in turn, our project shows they will not surrender from age, break through age, dare to challenge dream, and change the traditional stereotyped image of senior citizens in young people’s mind.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

In such cold winter afternoon, while in Taizhong City Vitalon Fund Hall there is a warm sharing session. Volunteers from cities of the county and dream-elders gathering here are to participate in the “2014 never old dream & filial piety volunteer sharing session'. The main purpose is to invite elders who have participated in this year’s “never old dream” and through the sharing session to share changes and moving little stories of participation in Dream Activity, at the same time to take this opportunity to commend enthusiasm of volunteers of their enthusiasm in elder service. Sharing session in the day includes share of “never old dream” and “filial piety strength”. We invited Grandpa Qiu Shujia, who was warmly welcomed in this year’s Xianjiao Broadway-Youth Radio performances to the site to share and give a live performance of walking on stilts. Grandpa began to learn stilts at the age of 70, which shows the spirit of “live and learn”. Grandpa is 80 years old now and still actively participate in on-street performances around the country. In the sharing session day he incarnate as tall version of Santa Claus. The part that he wears Christmas costume to walk on stilts makes continues cheers.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Before this project, some of our team members did not know the elder is so much power and like to pursue their dream, they think the elder like to stay in their home and sleeping. After many interviews and data collecting, we know they are very passion and cute, with aging population more and more serious, these old people still maintain their interest. Their appearances are seventy or eighty years old, but they are just like 18-year-old, in the age they enthusiastic about things they like. They would not lost aspirations because of old age. They bravely chase dreams, cherish every minute, every second, enjoy life, complete dreams, and seize every moment of their own arena. They live ordinary life, but much wonderful than others. These are we young people need to learn.
