1. Description of Our Community
Chaotian District belongs to county areas directly under jurisdiction of Guangyuan city, located at the junction of Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu provinces. In Tang Tianbao 15 years, emperor Tangxuanzong came here when there happened the rebellion of An and Shi, hundreds of officials in Sichuan province saw the emperor here in the grand worship, therefore, the placer was named as Chaotian, which has a long history. 5000 years ago, there were the ancient ancestors living here. There are rich cultural heritage, such as Bright Moon Gorge, Choubi Courier Station, Longmen Pavilion and Qipanguan; the scenery in Zengjia Moutain and ShuimoGou is beautiful, and the air is fresh, it is a great place for ecological health; there are splendid folk cultures: Li's gong and drum, Nuo opera of Pingxi, Choubi Suona, Xiao'an folk songs; there are folk customs with unique features, such as Crying Marriage, Duet Gong, Hitting in Marriage Ceremony. In 1935, China's fourth front red army of workers and peasants, cooperating with the central red army's strategic shift to crush the fifth encirclement and suppression of the kuomintang(KMT),came to Changtian and founded the Soviet government in Hongping county, spreading the revolutionary fire seeds onto this ancient land. Shu Road's history and culture, folk culture, ecological cultures, the red army culture, constitute the cultural ecological environment of Maliu embroidery, which irrigates and inspires cultural life of Maliu embroidery.
2. Summary of Our Project
With interviews of folk successors and experts in Cultural Center, we further study the characteristics and development of Maliu embroidery, and we deeply felt that characteristics culture of Maliu embroidery, is a folk art passed down and developed by family inheritane from one generation to another, is exquisite folk art treasure created by ancestors in Maliu township in self-sufficiency and carefree life. And we also find that there is succession crisis for Maliu embroidery, for traditional folk art with a long history and profound influence, we should have the responsibility to pass it down and develop it.

Our school uses ADSL Internet. We made webpage by using computer at teacher office and computer classroom.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Difficulty: 1, Local people who were skillful in Maliu embroidery were mostly elderly people, so the access to the resources was very limited: (2).We were not very skilled in operating some software (3).Time for our team to go out for interviews is limited. (4)We are lack of experience, because this was the first time for us to participate in Webpage Contest. Solution: 1, Asking the villagers around fully to help us looking for successors of Maliu embroidery (2). Consulting the teacher, self-study ability was strong; team motivation was also very high (3). Making full use of the holidays and weekend to go out for interviews Knowledgeable: (1). everything comes to him who waits (2). In practical learning, ability was promoted very fast (3). Carefully arranging the activity plans (4). With the teacher's patient instructions, professional knowledge was enhanced
5. Our Project Sound Bite
During our study, we learned that there is succession crisis for Maliu embroidery with the development of the age. Maliu embroidery is exquisite folk art treasure created by ancestors in Maliu Township in self-sufficiency and carefree life, is a state-level non-material cultural heritage. It was a folk art with unique local characteristics and unique artistic charm, it was precious cultural heritage rooted in the labor people's production and living with strong local flavor. Girls in Maliu, began to learn embroidery when she was six or seven years old, at 17 or 18 years old, they could embroider a set of exquisite dowry. The level of embroidery is an important standard to indicate whether the ingenuity and smart girl in Maliu. We believe that we can continue the rich traditions of Maliu embroidery through our effort, let us take action to call on more people to protect it, pass it down, and give one’s contribution to the hometown.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
We actively encouraged students to use their spare time to participate in social practical activities for their all-round development. The purpose of participating in DigiChina was mainly to make students combining the knowledge they have learned at school and practice, with extracurricular comprehensive practice activities, opening their mind. We were students majoring in computers, participating in webpage project research activity, did not only make us master the computer knowledge, but also exercised our social practice ability. It was very happy that with the experience and exercise of this activity, whether the social intercourse ability, thinking and moral quality, or student mastery of knowledge, had been enhanced a lot. Although we came across some difficulties, but we learnt unknown knowledge in the past, with investigation, research, interviews and, reading network resources, we strengthened the understanding of embroidery as a cultural heritage, and called on people to protect it without allowing it slowly to disappear in silence. In a word, inquiry learning activity made us have a deep understanding of the embroidery culture around us.
