Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Huatan Township is located in Changhua County of Taiwan. The east of Huatan Township was Bagua Mountain Mesa which was included 'Three Mountain National Scenic' . The eastern neighbor is Fenyuan Township ; The north of Huatan is Bako Village near Chunghua City. The south of Huatan Township was Dashun Township. The west of Huatan Township is Xiosui Township . The produces within our home Shih Tzu pomelo and Jasmine the most famous, bamboo, wormwood .

There are 18 villages in Huatan Township. The most population village are Changsha Paksa and Caitau Village. The cultural foundation of Huatan Township is very early. As early as the Qing dynasty, Huatan area belongs to the Paisa Ken. There was Paisa College which affected the life style and culture of Huatan. There are many scholars get the fame. Over the years, Taiwan has only three Hanlin(a offical titles). There are two Hanlin from Huatan area. It was visible that here has good reading thrive. Until now some remains of the style of study, and parents attach great importance to their children's education, and to bring up a lot of talent. 40 years ago, where the brick kiln smokestack stands, brick, brick-making was a labour-intensive undertaking, also foster the spirit of the people here are willing to work hard work hard. Zeng Weizhen had admitted to scholars.

There are many famous celebrities at modern Huatan Township. Such as Mr. Tsai Chih-chung is an excellent cartoonist. Mr Tsai Zhongliang was awarded 24th Taiwan farmers ' highest honor--Snlong's award. Mr Jiang Minquan also won 14th Hungchi-Literature prize . Mr Jiang Minquan also promotes forword history and culture of Huatan, participates to write history of Chifu Township and Huatan Township . to write “The rebuilt Histoyr of Changhua County”.

2. Summary of Our Project

At Huatan Township, there is a gentleman who deeply loved his country. Mr. Jiang who lovely talk history of Huatan. Since 1998, Mr. Jiang took the first interpretive guided , Mr. Jiang which has often been invited to some big and small places to interpretive guided for 16 years. He introduced history of various villages , Huatan Township and Changhua County. Even across the province to introduce the origin of last name. Mr. Jiang doesnot only talk about , but also write history of village , history of Huatan Township , history of Chifu Township. Near Mr. Jiang participate to rebuilt Histoyr of Changhua County and write Puyanxiang Township records. Not only speaking, Mr. Jiang also wrote articles and . literature essay. Mr. Jiang personally fond of literature, so Mr. Jiang have articles on Chunghua Review, Hungchi-Literature. And Mr. Jiang had the honour to win 14th Hungchi-Literature award . Mr Jiang was very interested in history since very young, and collects things related to the history, for example match boxes. Our website also includes six parts: first, described love of some big things. Second, introduced Mr Jiang's work, interpretive guide literary and historical work. Third, to introduce Mr Jiang's published books and review. Fourth, described Mr Jiang's contribution to local travel. Fifth, to introduce our interview with Mr. Jiang. Sixth, to describe Mr Jiang's personal collections.

All of our members have the Internet at home via ADSL/Cable, and have at least 2M bandwith. Our School have the Internet access via optical fiber and have 100MB bandwith. So it's enough for us to process our project.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The main obstacle for both teachers and students is TIME. Teachers need time to arrange for the entire project and time to instruct and teach students how to use soft wares for completing the roject. Students need time to learn and be familiar with new soft wares, to discuss the project, to interview, to write manuscripts, to edit the web pages. In order to squeeze as much time as possible between all the scheduled events, exams and activities during the semester, we spend lunch break together, sometimes even after school hours, or carry on the discussion via email or msn while at home. Aside from the school days, we also have to work during weekends and even winter vacation. The inexperienced students acquired and improved a lot throughout the process. How to delegate work and teamwork are the key to the completion of the project.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We are through our page “ Mr. Jiang who lovely speaks history of Huatan “, It render the important leaders in our district. We introduce several deeds of Mr Jiang Min-Quan. First, Mr. Jiang's published works include: articles , books, history of village, township records and papers. Second, Mr. Jiang's contributions, include to promote local tourism. Can be accessed a page people 'elderly' individual process, and how to love some positive moves. Third, we interview with Mr Jiang . Four, Mr Jiang 's collection. It also includes some unique brick works of art and a lot of matchboxs. Five, Mr Jiang's amateur work, guide interpretive work. Accessed Web pages people can see how Mr. Jiang decadent navigation work as a guide to promote Changhua County's tourism business. We invite on Facebook friends to ask them to visit our Group's Web site, it is letting some people go through. The promotion of Chiang's deeds. We have also informated our school’s computer teachers, please students utilize computer class to awareness home information.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We introduced the Mr. Jiang's deeds. Let people accessed Web pages understand that we have a Huatan-loving gentleman . After browsing Web pages, there were many schoolmates or people, they press “good” on Facebook . They deeply understand the beauty of Huatan. They also reflects their willingness to follow the example of Mr Jiang, they want to love own home. After accessed Web pages, they also said that they are going to the library to borrow Mr Jiang’s book, to learn more history of Huatan.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

There is only a Mr. Jiang help our group.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

First, We find a lot . We interviewed 'Mr Jiang Min-Quan'. We understand that a successful cultural worker’s struggles of life. This makes us more aware of our own career planning. We also found that Mr Jiang was how to love own homeland, and he did many many things. We found Huatan is a really beautiful place, people here are so good. Huatan have the kiln's hometown which was transformat the community to like- Palace of art. Other villages of Huatan Township are so beautiful. Second, we got lessons: we started taking pictures is to muddle. After faculty of inculcatior, we must run three times or four times,only for taking great photos. This tells us: We don't think we were ready, in fact, we did not. Our future, should you want to learn, is to do good things, not just finished. We also learn how to appreciate with the peer group of advantages and complement his shortcomings and how timely your strengths, makes team work can proceed smoothly. Third, we wonder many things. Mr Jiang is a gentleman of Huatan-loving . How beautiful art works in Ciautao Community! What a beautiful place Huatan is!
