Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Valandovo is the town in southeast of Republic of Macedonia. Valandovo region is having an ideal Mediterranean climate, the town and its surroundings give the impression of a large garden abundant with the well-known and tasty Valandovo figs and pomegranates, as well as other early-spring vegetables and fruits.

2. Summary of Our Project

The main goal of our project is to represent crafts and food, local specialties and unique items or things produced, grown, or raised in our community. We will represent this by designing a web site.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:more than 6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:not sure

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

At the begining we have problems of managing our ideas and to translated all of our knowledge into a form through which we can represent Valandovo and its specialities. We also have problems of less information and time manegement. We overcame this by planing shedule of our activities, searching information on Internet and finding people in our local community who own a materials that are interesting for being a part of our project.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Representing healthy food and drink created from the riches of the region of Valandovo. Our project consists of a wide spectrum of authentic information of local specialities.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This project helped us to learn and understand the uniqueness of our region with its vegetation, food and tradition connected with this.We also learnt different and new skills from this project: how to create and administrate webpage. We hope that the photos and narrative information in our project may be used for educational purpose.

We were making this project by generosity of people in our local community who own a materials that were interesting for being a part of our project. We have special thanks to Mrs Shuntova Snezana, publisher of page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=116797958338206&fref=ts and owner of many photographs from Valandovo. Also we thanks to Mr. Baleski Goran, student and co-worker in Valandovo Television for his educational videos for specialities in Valandovo.
