Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The subject of this case study is the Chung-Cheng Hall(C-C H.)C-C H.is a Changhua County historical building on Beidou Junior High School Campus. We concerned about the people, the portrayal of how space activities with which they are changing.

Chung-Cheng Hall in Beidou Town, built in 1960s, is an important gathering place, where important events in this expansion. High school, junior high school, at different stages of transition, which staged many campus activities and local activities. Students, teachers, neighbors and the communities from the area,they are all the elememts we explore and interviews.

Shake this and looking into the future to enable students to understand the changing role of the Chung-Cheng Hall in Beidou Junior High School , proceed from the surrounding historical monuments, cherish the good things around, so we have more courage, to meet future challenges.

2. Summary of Our Project

Chung-Cheng Hall in Beidou Junior High School currently, Changhua County historic building ( Not many County historic sites located within a campus ) .The topic research interests are pursuing the past story of Chung-Cheng Hall( Beidou region popular initiatives meeting place, the Beidou activity field, a movie theater in school) ; Former President of Beidou Junior School ,Kai-cheng Huang initiatives to retained for historical structures, transition for underperforming South Art Museum and the whole process of building repair and maintenance. Finally, the prospect of this space application activation, reproduce the community of lively interaction with the schools that year.

From the student's point of view ,Chung-Cheng Hall ,the past an important gathering place. How changing the role ,and looks forward to building a useful space after activation, improving?

Our Internet environment is fiber T1,but not actually fairly quickly.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1.Lack the computer technology abilities, first time edit one homepage and one web. ==>Teacher taught us basic homepage design skills, clearly transmit for the research. 2.Everyone has different point of view, and unable to accept other persons’s opinions.==>Cool down, what we concerned is the research matter. 3.Lack the interview experience, sometimes do not know what to ask,how to catch the main idea. ==>Draws up the interview questions beforehand, has the courage, do not have to be shy. 4.We all participate in International Schools CyberFair first time, did not know the real content of competition. ==>Believe yourself,do our best,never give up,keep schoolcybering. 5.We have too many data, did not know how to reorganize.==>Return to the research subject, withdraws the essential thing

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In this special project research, we needs to study moreover and improve abilities of problems solving and cooperation mutuallyl. We know that the rank is not the key, the key point is how much the spirit and the skills we have learned in the future,enters a higher school or in our daily life.By this research opportunity, we hope more people know the stories of C-C H.,Our School and even the whole Beidou Town, ChangHua County.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Which content standards did your Cyberfair project address? Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines?Competence Indicators or Benchmarks on those Learning Areas : Information Technology Education?Mandarin?English?Integrative Activities?Science and Technology?Arts and Humanities?Environmental Education. How did this project fit into your required school, district, or state curriculum guidelines? Beidou Junior High School ‘s School-based Curriculum Development Plan. Beidou Junior High School ‘s 2013 Information Technology Education Plan. What new skills did you learn? While the issues we have encountered on the web editing job! We are mutually inclusive and work together in facing Captain Cai Hao-yu in command. We learned kills on how to edit web pages using Dreamweaver. What group concepts did you practice? We practice the PBL(Project-based Learning). How do you better understand specific ideas? 1.we understand history is one process. 2.Maintain one historial building is difficult but important. How does your project fit into the requirements for your school or class? Base on School-based Curriculum Development,we know many stories about our school.In join the classes of international schools cyberfair,we know many elements of doing a research. What discoveries did you make about your educational system? 1.We are so busy doing research after daily school life. 2.We improve abilities on English Learning. About the role you play in your school community? 1.School is one part of the communities,more communication more understanding. 2.By this research,people discover many interesting stories around our communities. Has using the Internet for teaching and learning been more effective than traditional methods? If so, explain? 1.It depends on the content we learn or teachers told us,sometimes Internet is effective,sometimes isn’t.Most time,Internet is more effective than traditional methods. 2.Face to face interviews are more efficient than Long-distance interviews.

Interview records, remake photos ,research progress photo, interviews relistening,web editing, data analysis, site map and schema. Where did you locate each tool? All those tools provide by our school. Were any tools donated by businesses or schools? No any tools are donated by business,all provided by school. What were your most valuable tools? Why? 1.Xmind:mind map software.Make us a clear map for our project. 2.Mini DV:record all the interviewees what they told.We can listen or watch again and again. 3.Dreamweaver:arrange our Project Web Site content. 4.Google drive:create submissions form. Questionnaire to collect data as statistical. Which technologies were the most helpful? How? 1.mini DV: Interview Record. 2.Google drive: submissions form. Provide advice and views or proposal.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We contacted and talked to people in our community through internet society Web Site,phone calls, and through email.Our interesting stories are :1. Retired teacher SU,AN-HSIUNG provide us a touching PPT about the history of our school. 2. Cultural workers Xierui Long teacher :arrange a monument navigation about Chung-Cheng Hall for us.3. the Photographic Society of Changhua County: Director-General CHO,SHU-CHEN teach us how to take magic photos.

Are people impressed with the work that you are doing? How did they tell you they are impressed? 1.Someone feels that students on our campus are so happiness. 2.Chung-Cheng Hall as the use of South Changhua Arts Museum is hopeful for the Arts and Humanities education on Beidou Campus. 3.We can’t wait for the re-opening of Chung-Cheng Hall.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Will your project make a difference? People in our community almost forget Chung-Cheng Hall,even students on our campus. By this research project,we both know the stories of the past. Have people in your community learned new things through your Web pages? 1.Evoke memories of the past . 2.Has been registered as historic buildings. 3.Space for performing arts. Have other people around the world learned new things about your community? 1.Appreciate the people and cultures at Beidou Town. 2.Learn campus characteristics and environment of Beidou Junior High School. 3.The name of Chung-Cheng Hall(Chiang Kai-shek Hall) is product of the times. 4.Rich and diverse historical monuments are at Beidou Town. 5.Chung-Cheng Hall will be a proper planned and useful space for arts show ,gathering place, learning space for students and community residents. Have you established some new working relationships with people in your community? We have established the new working relationships with Dianangong Mazu Temple and cultural workers Xierui Long teacher. Who besides you and your students has looked at your Web pages? 1.Chung-Cheng Hall,what a secret space,they know some from our Web page. 2.They are looking forward to reopening of Chung-Cheng Hall in the future. 3.Some students imagine watching a movie at Chung-Cheng Hall. What kind of feedback have you received? 1.Cherish every opportunity to learn. 2.Learn many different things during the period of research. 3.Have memorable Campus Life.
