Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

“Feng Tou Shuei Wei” , which refers to the windy side and the end of water, is the most appropriate geographic description of Shengang Township. Shengang locates in the northwest of Changhua County. Its north is Dadu River and its west is Taiwan Ocean. Strong wind is a great advantage for wind power generation. We can see many huge wind turbines in the coastal areas. Some wind turbines were just set on the road of the industrial district and their spectacular looks attracted many tourists.

2. Summary of Our Project

Changhua County Cultural Affairs Bureau turned to a high drama instructor - - Mr Chan Ji teacher , came to the community to guide high Shenkang A troupe of Quanzhou , from the beginning to the depth of curiosity , under the guidance of teachers first learn the basic steps , Lianqiang , dance knife , and then stand on the stage and the community together to complete a mama drama performances , continuous learning process , Chen expected to give more this year, not only figure performances.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Time was the first problem we had. There is too much thing to be learned. But the main problem we have faced is this traditional drama had limited resources.

Story of Gau-Jia drama is coming back with us!

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We had learned the traditional culture of our country, in those stories we had found the passion of drama, of our own land.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used the computer in our school with ADSL. AND the local library helped us much.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

My students tried to re-perform the art of traditional drama, Gau-Jia. And they did it, they had moved so many people below the stage.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We have visit many people lived in our community, and talked much. The old man known the story of drama was happy to find there are young gays loved Gau-Jia drama.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The old people lived in our community do know about the almost lost art of Gau-Jia drama, and now they try very hard to teach everything about that.
