Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

ShangYi near Beijing and Tianjin, the geographical advantage is obvious. Rich land resources, unique climate are suitable for high quality vegetable and crop nutrient accumulation. Rich mineral resources, potential development is tremendous. Stable and rich wind resources, which is one of the best wind energy resources in north China areas. Unique tourism resources, characteristics ecological tourism, there are ethnic customs, cultural history, ecological tourism three types of tourism. Convenient transportation, speedy communication, abundant electric power, sufficient labor resources, all of these are for open ShangYi create a good investment environment.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The network exposition, we met with some difficulties, for example, in an interview, some left-behind people don't understand, for us to look on coldly, village leaders don't understand us. Tutors and school leaders to solve the problem, make our interview smoothly, let's finish production of a web page.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In class teaching, we mainly learn some basic knowledge. The specific research we put some knowledge learned in school and practice of ordinary times together, which realize the double development of the knowledge and the emotion. For our school held 'care and help left-behind community' public welfare activities, there are many respectable people around us and a lot of people supported to help us. Through activities, we master the computer knowledge; exercise our social practice ability as well. Although meeting with some difficulties, but we learn knowledge not from classroom, in short, we have benefited a lot from this activity.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In this practice, we learned teamwork, how to better communicate with people, how to collect materials, how to organize data by computer, Google maps, process photos, edit text, sort design websites, build site, etc.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Our group is involved in the inquiry activity for the first time, it is our pleasure, so we felt the shoulder heavy responsibilities.We took interview as the main way, used Sunday and extracurricular activity to interview the related people and villager leader or women's federation, collected interview material in time, introduced interview experience between the classmates, carried out the theme class meeting, promoted our research program to families, in order to let more people participate in activities, make them know the real life and understand the left-behind community

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

To participate in this activity, we learn to Thanksgiving, it also lets us know the beauty and hardship of life. More let us know the good life is created by unblending indomitable spirit!

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our website has been finally finished, looking back on these days, we are reluctant to leave. Because in this activity we contact many people we know and don't know. In order to help us complete the project, they have sacrificed a lot of rest time. Teacher Fu is administrator of Qianxiang Wancai and director of school teaching division who supports our activities, let us smoothly interview left-behind community and take care of the left-behind population; School teaching division arrange us the activity of 'Help the elderly and children'. Director Liu Ying painstakingly organize left-behind population interview for us; Mr Zhang makes us feel hospitable. Here, we all the members of the project take this chance to say thank you! Thank you for a lot of help, we will be successful!

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the process of completing the project, in addition to learning some computer technology, we also deeply feel to put knowledge to use, and the importance of participation in social practice. Before attending the event, we know little about left-behind population, even only know their parents work outside, also don't understand the meaning of the word 'left-behind', let alone understand left-behind community life. Through a study of this topic, we know the studying and living of remaining group, in the activities, we also learned how to communicate with people, how to conduct interviews, which also let us learn to be strong.
