Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

When we decide to take part DigiChia, we are wondering what it is and how to do it. Then we realize, we don’t need to be worried, anyway there is teacher offering guidance to us! So we sign up for the contest. Actually,we even don't know the network code, how to do, also don't know where to begin, I have thought it is just like automatic office software, which only needsa simple typesetting. However, with the teacher's explanation, we realize that a good website construction is far from simple, we'll be starting from nothing, it is always better than not to participate at all. After analyzing of the situation, we allocate tasks to everyone, some classmates are responsible for taking pictures, some for collecting text information, some for text compiling. The teacher helps us to sort out the codes and overcome difficulties.

2. Summary of Our Project

From this project, i understand everything you would know its value once you do it yourself, and when you do it, you will learn many new things. When we first starte doing website, we are not proficient, for many software, we don't know how to use them, while, with the guidance and patient teaching, we are not only familiar with the software we don’t know how to use before, but also master them.

In our school there are six computer rooms with 50 LCD computers in each room, and every office is equipped with a computer, which is not open to our project, during this activity, we use computers in the thousands of villages and townships office, at the same time , we also use digital cameras, U disks, mobile phones and other equipment.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Although our major is electronics which has little to do with web page making, and it is very difficult to make web pages, but in the event we learn a lot of knowledge, learn a lot of theoretical knowledge in practice, we preserve in it by encourage each other, the teacher also helps us when we have problems, guiding us and finding solution with us together, which brings more confidence for us to accomplish this activity. In the process, we learn a lot, instead of flinching from difficulties, we would always face and overcome difficulties.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In this activity, we learn much knowledge out of textbooks, understand some basic skill in web making, the friendship between classmates is enhanced, and we realize the importance of team work. In a large society, if everyone does his little part, the world will become more beautiful. Although there are a lot of difficulties in the process, but we don't give up, we encourage each other,face all difficulties together, which makes us know the team cooperation is the most important thing, in the activity, we have different tasks, support each other, during which our friendship becomes more strong, adding a rich colorful experience in our life.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

For this activity, we make use of extracurricular activities and rest time to finish, there is not too much time to play, and we make full use of our own social experience, making regular campus courses connecting closely with project research activities of Digichina, we learn a lot of knowledge in the activity, making us feel fruitful, and the participation in it gives us a lot of thinking and exercises our personal ability.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Through our practice and investigation, we introducethe history and culture of Wangcan , once a city for Red Army in history, making more people know this city, promoting the local tourism development.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Through this activity, the city would be known by more people, which is good for its better development, making more people know its beautiful natural scenery, local customs, which also can promote the local tourism development, improve living condition for local people.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The school provides us with computer rooms, the local residents provide us with the local history and cooperate with our interview with enthusiasm, therefore, we have learned a lot of stories in this activity, and classmates also help us to overcome many difficulties in the activity.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

During the web page making, We find that we have to get solution from practice, and remember that unity is strength, for example, there is one time when making web pages, we don't know how to do multiple links, with consultancy from teacher, we find it is really not difficult at all.
