5. Our Project Sound Bite

The International Cyber Fair participation has raised standard for our school. Our students know that being asked to participate raises the academic standard.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our Cyberfair project addressed STEM education standards. Our students were able to create and educate others in the process of sustainability and living an eco friendly life. They created awareness in their school community and gave alternatives to abusing the resources that exist in nature. This fit into the curriculum by incorporating technology into research, creation and implementation Team building, cooperation and dedication were practiced. Specific ideas are better understood through communication and cooperation. This project is considered a skill building project for advanced and exceptiional students. This project made the studetns feel that they could participate in creating change within the school community in creating a 'greener' outlook in the school.

To complete this project we used digital cameras, laptops, video conferencing, oral interviews and internet resources. These tools made it possible for us to complete the project.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Our students have spoken with various school administrators regarding the implementation of an education program in our school. We have implemented an ink recycling program as well as bottle recycling in the classroom. We are going into the classrooms to educate younger students in steps they might take at home to help their parents undrstand the benfits of living 'green' .
