Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

ingluo Ningxia, as a development and convergence place of mixed cultures, takes the advantage of its mass foundation to develop its Buddhist culture, which has been supported by a lot of local people who love to teach. There have been more than twenty temples, regardless big or small, such as Yuhuang Garret, Tianzhou Tower, North Wudang Temple and Jieyin Temple only in the region of Pingluo Ningxia until now. Many forms of Buddhist cultures have played a significant role in promoting development of the cultural diversity, which are the unique painting, architecture, music and others produced in the process the development, spread and prosperity of Buddhism in China.

2. Summary of Our Project

There are 15 ethnic groups, such as Hui, Han, Man, Mongolian, nearly 30 million people living in 2286.2 square meters Pingluo Ningxia, harmoniously for generations, where cultures exchange from each other, national culture, Western Xia Culture, nomadic culture, regional culture, Helan Mountain culture, Yellow River Culture and other cultures blending together to create a beautiful and rich culture of the frontier Yellow River and the customs and culture of the desert. From Helan Mountain along to North Wudang Mountain, from Emperor Temple to Jieyin Temple, we tried to find out the characteristic from local unique Buddhist culture and art, and our own ethnic and religious culture through interviews of Buddhist music chachatsu which has been listed into non material cultural heritage. We wish to let people around the world understand and be aware of its cultural and historical value and the beauty and meaning of Buddhist music. We should remind ourselves us to carry forward our traditional culture and to protect our traditional Buddhist culture to enable its transmission and to be carried forward in the future.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

It was a headache also the first problem that we often came across with the same topic with the neighbor school in the contest this year. Because all previous work was done well, and after registration, the company administrator teacher Liu notified that the topic was repeated. Then we did a report to the principal, meanwhile the students had no confidence on how to complete. we all could not accept the fact. If continued, we might not finally get a good result. Then what topic could we get? As a advisor, I had no idea. Although we won a silver medal last year, when facing grades, there must be pressure, because of no suitable topic. How? we all were into a predicament. when having a rest, I logged on the Internet and found that Buddhist music chachatsu in Northern Wudang Mountain was listed into the State protection of non material cultural heritage, which inspired me. This should be the topic. In the interview, although it was hard to adjust time, we made trips on weekends and found out the heirs. We had a lot of feelings after two interviews. Despite of the tight schedule of interview and producing, we finished the plan within two weekends with the support of our president and efforts of ourselves. Finally, we made it.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We as local rural middle school of a teacher and three students, in that this kind of situation, want to through the nets of the expo this publicity platform, the responsibility for publicity and protect the buddhist music form ZhaZha son in the promotion of the ambassador, use our knowledge, through to the teacher and the students issued publicity material, use the identity of the students from their side began, parents and neighbors to publicize the buddhist music form ZhaZha son. PingLuo has a long history, we from the music culture art this Angle publicity our hometown buddhist music culture. Also hope to pass we this platform, let the people from all over the world understand and cognitive we PingLuo buddhist music culture connotation. We the protection and inheritance from this perspective to think of Buddhism music culture in the future development direction. We are here as a compulsory spokesman, bear obligations in the promotion of the ambassador, for promoting national religious culture and the protection of intangible cultural heritage to do our part.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Information science and technology is we are learning, Office, scientific research best assistant, hardware equipment in computer, digital camera, scanner, system, mobile hard disk, etc, in computer software are: MicrosoftOffice FrontPage 2003 web page editor, Office 2003 text material edit, holds the number six words image recognition software, Outlook Express sending and receiving letters, drawing software, Internet Explorer surfing the web, photo editor ACDSee software. 3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

This topic research activity, to the us in the region and has great influence on, before we all saw the buddhist music form, just don't know the buddhist music from what time from and where to our local, there is this kind of music form, call what name? Play up, is there any requirement for everyone? Is there PuZi? Of the above questions, through this theme activity, the answers are answered. Through our publicity after, first in our school, there are many teachers know the popular in the PingLuo buddhist music ZhaZha son is ancient GongChe notation another notation way, a combination of the two, they form a simple buddhist music program. 4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

After two interviews, we classified the pictures and videos, and summarized the interview data, and also classified data basically according to the structure of the site. The web pages came to the next step, when we mainly used the free website of Town and Talent Company. We used the word 2003 with the texts, and ACDsee and Meitu Xiuxiu in image processing.
