Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Located at the upper reaches of the Yellow River, Guide County of Qinghai Province is known as “little Jiangnan on the plateau”, meaning the southern area of China’s Yangtze River famous for its fertile land. The magnificent scenery with remarkble Danxia landform and wetland park attracts a lot of people every year. In resent year, the growth in tourism of Guide is really astonishing. 4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1, Time was limited. Our school takes in at 7:30 AM and lets out at 18:00 PM. We did not have plenty of time to do the project with our whole heart. Our team mainly did the research during Friday afternoon and Sunday. 2, Inadequacy of the facilities: Because using computers in our school are limited in number, we had very little chance to operate the computer. And a few computers working burdened with slow internet connection, this gave us a hard time in uploading and downloading files. 3, Transportation problem: We had a long way to get to those places, and needed time to go. We took teacher’s car, and everyone squeezed into the car. 4, Poor in English: After we had finished the Chinese part, it was time to translate them into English. But Our English proficiency is not good. We thanked staffs of Town & Talent Company for their guidance.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

This was our first time to take part in the CyberFair. We were both excited and nervous. Because we lacked experience, we did not know what we will discuss at first. After much discussion with teachers, we focused on our local tourist resources, selected Nanhai Temple as study object. Deciding on our theme, we began systemically gathering, processing, writing and compiling information. Intently studying let us have different discoveries. As long as you are willing to make mental efforts and physical efforts, you could initiate a sky of your own in whatever you do!

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In the course of research, we learned that how to communicate easily with others, how to collect material, how to operate computer and visit the website for the information we want, how to design webpage.
