1. Description of Our Community
Rich with history, culture and natural beauty. All these wonders have been here for thousands of years, embraced by those who happened upon them. We feel that around every bend in Newfoundland and Labrador, you will feel serenity, see beautiful sights and experience a playful breeze that will help your journey.
In our project, you will be introduced to our home, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Our school is located in Clarenville, NL a town of six thousand. Clarenville is located in a narrow strip between the coastal ridge and the sea. We have the deepest, most sheltered, ice-free port on Newfoundland's east coast.
Here, we routinely catch a glimpse of icebergs, whales, birds and wildlife. Our project will focus on a historical landmark located in our capital city, St. John's, however we consider our local community to be the entire province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
2. Summary of Our Project
If you tried really hard to imagine the most impressive and awe inspiring region of Canada, Banff National Park would be at the top of the list. Around every bend in the road you will find a vista that will take your breath away. Charming towns, bountiful wildlife and craggy peaks abound.
Mountains, really big mountains, are everywhere. Raging rivers filled with water so blue you will never forget it, immense tracts of beautiful forests and enormous glaciers contribute the sheer beauty of this wonderful part of our country. Did we mention the glacial lakes the color of turquoise? These lakes are so blue that you honestly wonder if they are real or just painted on the landscape.
Our Cyber-Fair project this year will focus on Banff National Park. We will introduce you to the towns found within the park and the wide variety of activities for tourists and locals alike. The Rocky Mountains are truly beautiful and the postcard like setting of Banff National Park is an unforgettable destination.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
We worked hard to learn how to build a website as none of the team had experience with html language.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Participating in CyberFair has continued to help us to realize that we are not alone as a school and that we are a part of something much larger, and exciting, than we realized before. The sheer number of interesting projects we reviewed was simply amazing and humbling for us.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
In addition to learning to work together as a team to create a project, we also learned a lot about Banff National Park. The information we studied had a lot to do with Canadian Geography and not only fulfilled the required curriculum, it exceeded it! We learned that within our own country lies an area of immense beauty visited by people from all over the world! We also learned a lot about using the Internet to research and create a project. This was an amazing experience again this year and we will never forget it.
