The excellent Feng Shui here attracts many people to build pagodas here. Water bamboo is a specialty here. Chianshuiwan Harborside Park is a good place for vacationers. The Seashell Temple is a unique structure. We sincerely hope that people can appreciate the beauty of Sanzhi through this research project.

2. Summary of Our Project

Sanchin Seashell Temple, built mainly with seashells and corals, is one of the most special temples in Taiwan. It is decorated with the divine characters and animals in the legendary Sea Palace. The Seashell Temple was first founded by an organization in San-Chung Township. Chi Kung is the temple’s main deity. Originally, the organization’s members took turns worshipping Chi Kung. Chi Kung once showed up in the dream of a member, telling him that he wanted them to build a temple for him. Later on, they decided to build the temple in Sanzhi. We’d like to take the advantage of International CyberFair to investigate why they formed the organization and how it has been influencing San-Chung Township. Besides, we’d like to look into what contribution the temple has made to the culture, economy and tourism in Sanzhi. We sincerely hope that people can have a better understanding about the temple and have a rewarding trip here in Sanzhi.
