Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Chifeng city is located at the southeastern of inner mongola, the combination of meng, ji, liao. Chifeng is named by the red mountain at the northeastern city, which is belong to donghu in the period. In 43rd year of Qing dynasty, the chifeng county was set, at the guangxu emperor ruling 32nd year, it comes to zhilizhou. In 1946, rebei belongs to zhaowudameng. The chifeng city was set, regulating the county system. There are all together 4 distircts, 7 flags and 2 county, with the total area 90725 sqaure kilo. With length as 375 kilo, and width 457.5 kilo. There are 30 people, such as meng, han, hui, man, with the total population 4.6 million, meng people 82000 people. The city enjoys long history and culture, the origin of Chinese culture. The relic site has been found as much as 6800. since the historic culture, chifeng become the center of the minor people activity, the origin of the bronze culture and qidan, liao culture. At the 8th five plan the xinlongwa gathering site of aohan is the one of the big finding of the old exploring to decide 8000 years of Chinese culture, which is named by the first village of china. In the fengniuteqi, the red mountain marks thing—jade dragon, was named as the first dragon of the china. It enjoys the rich resource with the medal ranking the first of the whole district. Grassland, desert, ice, stone forest, spring and the natural resource and culture of red mountain, grassland, qidan, liao culture, mengyuan culture. The conditions of developing the tour is unqiue. It stands at the connection of northeast and middle, which is the important part of bohai economic zone, with the easy radiation from Beijing, tianjin and shenyang for its unique location and convenient traffic. Chifeng industry has the mineral, medicine, paper making, leather, chemistry and machine. The agriculture has wheat, corn. With the wide future, and development potential, it has the frontier of the western development. With the continue perfection of the infrastructure, the city was enhanced for the all progressed society and spirit culture.

2. Summary of Our Project

Hongshan culture is the main part of our history, in our homeland chifeng, hongshan and yulong is the main mark of this area. yulon as the carrier of culture pervade all chifeng. In the early of liberation, all the people around the world has found the relic and site. After the founding of the china, culture get bossom and many achievement has done. The red mountain culture is outstanding for its quantity, type, distribution and hisotyr. Though it is left by the ancestors, few people aware it. Culture is the common prosperity. So we should try to let others knowing. We hope we can find the beauty from our work.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Difficulties: as the people in chifeng , we don’t how to start this activity to the red mountain and how to plan the structure. Resolution: we take the time to ask the teachers and people around us , as well as looking the culture. Finding some books and collecting the details, we get the start.

Item :time Difficulties: the students should take the study as the top, we can only use the time after school to work, so we have not enough time to research. Resolution: we can only use the leisure time, weekend, and holiday to make up.

Item lesson Difficulties: in this activity, we have no experience, so it is normal we take time to go around. Resolution:through this activity we can summarize the experience to lead the activity, our webpage can be perfected with the continuous practice.

Item details Difficulties: the details related to the red mountain culture is rare, we occasionally meet the books possessed by the owner. Some of them are quite expensive and not useful. Resolution:it is a pity that we miss the details, we can only to ask the scholar and museum, finally our work can be good, though not the masterpiece.

Item cohesiveness Difficulties: facing the problems, our diverting is normal. Resolution: we can work together to cooperate and finalize the thoughts to solve the problems.

Item action Difficulties: all the site is far to our research. We have no fund so we have to walk or by bicycle Resolution:hard can not stop us, and add our power.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Through this activity, we learn the knowledge beside the class. We know more about the big change of the history. Our ancestors, earth and homeland, we deeply feel that our happy life is not easy, the thousand year culture is the rime of human wisdom and the shared fortune of people. We should love peace and away from the war. The wheel of history goes forward fast.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The teaching of our school are limited to the study, through this research, we enlarge our horizon and more knowledge about the text books. We have the chance to practice what we have learned from the books, which is most important. It is our fortune and possession. Through this activity, we know more about the importance of the human history and protecting the relic. We also realize our heavy burden of our generation. We have to continue the culture.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In this activity, we not only know the knowledge of the red mountain culture, we also go deep in the computer and internet. We master how to interview and taking photo, summarize the experience, plan the activity. We know how to communicate with the strangers, how to use the computer, and editing the webpage into the pretty webpage.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Hongshan Culture is not familiar to the people of the world and even to the locals. So we decide to take it for our International Schools CyberFair to introduce it to more people. We love our homeland more than before when we learn more about it. We will workhard and build our hometown more beautiful in the future. There will be more people to know and concern the beauty of Hongshan culture through our project.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

1. Thank Professor Sun from Chifeng College, who directed the topic at the beginning of the study and described the historical origins of Hongshan Culture. 2. Thank northern Hongshan Culture Research Institute, Hongshan evening paper and Chifeng Museum, who provided some valuable historical information. 3. Thank the principals and teachers of our school, who provided the venues, tools and technical guidance. 4. Thank our teacher and all of our classmates, who help us a lot and gave more encouragement.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

1,one earth one dream. It is so long for historic change from the ancient. The life is so short. We should get along to build a homeland---earth. 2,the pursuit to the beauty is the permenant title of human kind. 3,we cannot forget our second class. This activity is unique, and challenge. We can open our horizon, full enjoyment and wisdom enhancing. We know more about the homeland we get shock in our mind and feeling.
