Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Chaotian is located in the north of Sichuan, upstream of Jialing River. It is 23 kilometers away from Guangyuan. It is 500-1300 meters high above sea level. The natural scenery is magnificent in Chaotian and is famous as the important passage of Sichuan and Shanxi Province. The poem by Li Bai also shows the importance of it. There are six kinds of road in Mingyue Gorge, so it is famous as “museum of communication in China”. The plank road in Mingyue Gorge enjoys high fame around the world. The most famous temple of Sichuan – Da’an Temple is also in this area. There are also a lot of other scenic spots here such as Longmen Building, Xuexi Cave, Shilindong Village and processing area of stone tools of ancient times, all of which show the culture of Sichuan. The Jinniu ancient plank road also shows the history here. It is also an important military site. A lot of poets have written more than 300 poems here.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We four girls can take part in this activity, which makes us rather happy. But what is the topic of our research? All of us think about Mingyue Gorge which is very near to our school. Then we start to interview the relevant people and collect materials online. However, we also encountered a lot of difficulties. Due to the earthquake, Mingyue Gorge is closed. When we look for the track road, we ask a fisher about it, but he does not know it at all. We have to look for by ourselves. But according to Miss Duan, what we find is not the track road, which makes us quite disappointed. When we go to Jinniu Plank Road, a large dog on the way frightens all of us…… In spite of all of this, when we look at our web done by ourselves, our happiness cannot be described by words. We believe we will succeed at last.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We have never thought we can take part in such a meaningful activity. Through our own effort in two months, we collect a lot of materials and design the web by ourselves. Although there is still something to be improved, all of us are very happy to our work at last. Through this activity, we have learned a lot that cannot be learned in class, which makes us proud of our hometown and our great country.
