On an area of 2333 hectars, more than 12000 citizens live today. In this little community, there live people of various religions and nationalities. The history of Sabinov is rich on cultural traditions connected with many famous peoples who were born and lived here. Some of them got international recognition.

Sabinov is a city which is more than 750 years old and it has a very rich history represented by architecture of the historical buildings. That is the reason why we have chosen the topic „The landmarks of the city of Sabinov“. The main idea of our project is to introduce you to the most important monuments of the city: The Ghotic church, Piaristic gymnasium, City Hall and finally the City walls. Special attention will be paid to the house of famous artist Kostka Csontváry.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Museums, libraries, books, newspapers, oral interviews, telephones

We have only positive receptions. People always saying that website like this were missing. And so now we see that our work has sense.

This webside will be instrumental to our students by schooling of regional history.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We talked to our priest who told us something about the church and the chaple. People in museums hepled us gladly too. Mostly in architecture of the buildings.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We found the names of the people who built out the church in Sabinov. We also got a lesson that we will need more time for creating the website in the future. We have to be more faster.
